This course is just for teens!
Perfect for anyone who is familiar with a sewing machine and is ready to give dressmaking a try.
In this 6 hour workshop, students will learn how to measure themselves and select the pattern size that is right for them. Then guided by our experienced tutor, they will learn how to read and understand the pattern markings and cut their fabric. Using our excellent Janome sewing machines, you will construct your beautiful new pyjamas. You can select from long PJ bottoms or shorts.
What's Included:
We will provide Janome sewing machines and overlockers, all of the tools and threads you will need to complete your projects, and any interfacing and elastic you will need. You will also receive your copy of the Tilly and The Button's Jamie Pyjama pattern to keep to make again at home.
The pattern used in this class is the Tilly and the Buttons Jamie pyjama bottoms. We will provide you with a copy of this pattern. This is the standard version of the pattern; the pattern sizes are 61cm (waist) 84cm (hips) to 106cm (waist) 129cm (hips.) Please contact us BEFORE the class if you require a size out with this range.
What do I need to bring:
Depending on your size, you will need to bring 2-3m of lightweight woven fabric, such as cotton. You are free to bring this with you, or we have a fabric selection for sale in the studio.
This class is not for you if:
You have never operated a sewing machine before. If you don't know how to thread a machine yet or wind the bobbin. If you haven't tackled any beginners projects, such as a simple tote bag, try our Beginners Sewing Course first, or come along for one session.
