Is your Little Beginner ready to become a Little Improver?
If your child has been on our Little Beginners classes, or is confident using a sewing machine for craft projects, this class is the perfect next step for them.
Little Improvers will introduce your child to measuring their own body to ensure their garment fits, cutting a paper pattern and learning how to use this to cut their fabric to size. They will then construct their beautiful new item of clothing.
This class will run over 2 Saturday mornings. On the first we will cut the paper patterns and our fabric and begin construction. On the second week we will finish the skirts and they will be ready to take them home to show off!
Who is this class for? This class is for children aged 8 - 14 years who can use a sewing machine and have completed some simple craft projects, at home or on our LITTLE BEGINNERS class. The pattern used in this class is suitable for up to age 14. If you are in any doubt if this class is for you please drop an email to amanda@sewyoucan.co.uk
What's included:
We will provide the pattern for the skirt. This will be yours to keep and make again. We will also provide the sewing machines and the kit used in the class as well as the notions like thread and elastic.
What do I need to bring:
You need to bring the fabric required for your skirt. Cotton is best for this pattern. We will send you exact requirements after booking. The amount of fabric required will depend on the size of the skirt, but will be no more than 2 metres.
PLEASE NOTE: After booking this class you will be sent two emails. This first will confirm your booking and the second will contain important information such as where to find us and the fabric requirements for the class. If you do not receive these please check your junk mail.
If your child is likely to require additional support to complete this project, please contact us to ensure we are able to meet their needs.
Our studio is on the first floor and we are sorry but there is no lift.
